FAQs Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is tire balancing, and why is it necessary?

Tire balancing is the process of ensuring that the weight of a tire and wheel assembly is evenly distributed. It’s necessary to balance tires because even minor imbalances can cause vibrations, uneven tire wear, and steering issues. Balancing helps improve ride comfort, handling, and tire longevity.

  • How can I tell if my tires are out of balance?

Signs that your tires may be out of balance include vibrations in the steering wheel, seat, or floorboard, particularly at certain speeds. Uneven tire wear, especially on the edges of the tread, can also be an indicator. If you notice these symptoms, it’s a good idea to have your tires balanced.

  • How often should I have my tires balanced?

The frequency of tire balancing can vary based on factors such as your driving habits, road conditions, and the type of tires and wheels you have. As a general guideline, it’s recommended to have your tires balanced every 6,000 to 8,000 miles or if you notice any of the signs mentioned earlier. Additionally, it’s a good practice to have your tires balanced when you purchase new tires or after having any tire or wheel-related service.

  • What does a typical tire balancing service involve?

During a tire balancing service, a technician uses specialized equipment to measure any imbalances in the tire and wheel assembly. Small counterweights are then added or adjusted to balance the assembly. The goal is to ensure that the combined weight of the tire and wheel is evenly distributed, resulting in a smoother and more comfortable ride. Properly balanced tires contribute to improved vehicle handling and safety.

Even though they don't do appointments it was still quick, called and had them order a set of tires a couple of days ago so I could get them done on my day off, got there early after dropping the kids off to school and they were done in about about an hour, I was surprised when I found out the price also included road hazard tires were 200-300 below prices I was getting from everyone else
